New Zealand’s hottest crime drama is here! I’m very pleased to have scored this beautiful queer cop-drama series set in Northland, in the fictional town of Waitote. Starring Morgana O’Reilly (The White Lotus) and Roimata Fox (Muru) as ex-lovers turned police parters, solving a crime every episode and trying to get along despite their unresolved issues. Director Max Currie and I worked on the style and tone of the score which ended up being a hybrid of Tango and Dub! Tango for the romance, and Dub for the rural NZ vibes. But the score goes into quite different territory depending on which episode you watch! I really loved this one and it’s so great to see a queer story amongst all the crime dramas out there.
