Possum Magic: The Ballet

One of my fondest and most heartwarming projects of 2023 was composing the score for The Australian Ballet School’s adaptation of the beloved children’s book, Possum Magic. by Mem Fox and Julie Vivas.

I had the pleasure of working alongside my longtime friend and creative partner, Loughlan Prior, who choreographed this wonderful production. In the past we have enjoyed working collaboratively on other large-scale ballets such as Hansel & Gretel and Cinderella for the RNZB. 

This one was no exception, and the fantastically whimsical music reflects the heart-mood felt by those of us working on the production! Costumes and sets were designed by Emma Kingsbury which marked a reunion for the ‘dream team’ of Cinderella. You can buy the album here.
